Explore Karnataka's Finest
From sacred temples and pristine beaches to misty hill stations and coastal wildlife, discover the many faces of coastal Karnataka.

Udupi Sri Krishna Temple
The Udupi Sri Krishna Temple is one of the most revered Hindu shrines in South India. Built in the 13th century by the philosopher-saint Madhvacharya, this temple is unique for its 'Kanakana Kindi', a small window through which devotees can see the deity. The temple is surrounded by eight monasteries (Ashta Mathas) that take turns managing its administration in a 14-year cycle. Experience the magical early-morning and evening pujas, the Paryaya festival, and the divine prasadam.

Malpe Beach
Malpe is a vibrant fishing harbour and beach destination just 5 km from Udupi. The beach is famous for its boat rides to St. Mary's Island, a geological marvel with hexagonal basalt rock formations declared a National Geological Monument. Watch the colourful fishing fleet set sail at dawn, enjoy fresh seafood at the harbour, and experience the stunning Arabian Sea sunsets. Water sports including jet skiing, banana boat rides, and parasailing are available.

Coorg (Kodagu) Hills
Coorg, known as the Scotland of India, is a breathtaking hill station in the Western Ghats. Famous for its lush coffee and spice plantations, Coorg offers an experience unlike any other in Karnataka. Visit the stunning Abbey Falls, trek to Tadiandamol, the highest peak in Coorg, explore the Namdroling Monastery (Golden Temple), and indulge in authentic Kodava cuisine. A stay at a coffee estate homestay is an experience that will stay with you for life.

Gokarna: Om Beach
Gokarna is a rare place where spirituality and natural beauty coexist in perfect harmony. The town's Mahabaleshwar Temple houses one of the most sacred Shiva lingas in India. Just minutes away, Om Beach, named for its Om-shaped coastline, is a paradise of golden sand and turquoise water. The less-touristed Half Moon and Paradise beaches reward adventurous trekkers. Gokarna perfectly balances the soul of a pilgrimage town with the laid-back vibe of a coastal retreat.

Dharmasthala
Dharmasthala is one of the most visited pilgrimage centres in Karnataka, receiving over 10,000 pilgrims daily. What makes it unique is that it is managed by the Jain Heggade family, yet is dedicated to Lord Manjunatha (Shiva). The free community meal (Anna Dana) served daily to all visitors regardless of caste or religion is a remarkable tradition. Visit the Car Museum, the Bahubali statue, and the Manjusha Museum on your pilgrimage.

Murdeshwar Temple
Murdeshwar is a coastal town that leaves every visitor speechless. The 123-foot Shiva statue, the second tallest in the world, rises majestically from a rocky promontory surrounded by the Arabian Sea on three sides. A 20-storey Gopura (gateway tower) with a lift offers panoramic views of the coastline. The ancient Murdeshwara Temple below is dedicated to Lord Shiva, and the beach here is one of the most scenic in Karnataka.
